SubSea Networks supports EllaLink to achieve Contract in Force
Penzance, UK and Dublin, Ireland – 8th January 2019 – SubSea Networks Limited, a leading provider of subsea consultancy services, and EllaLink announced today that the supply contract for the EllaLink Submarine Cable System has come into force and construction has commenced.
Scheduled for commercial operation in 2020, the EllaLink System is a state-of-the-art 4 fibre pair submarine cable designed to satisfy the demand for traffic between Europe and Latin America. EllaLink will provide connectivity between Portugal and Brazil, linking Data Centres in Marseille, Madrid, Lisbon, Fortaleza and São Paulo, with branches to Madeira and Cabo Verde, over an express low latency subsea cable, offering the first ever direct fibre connection between the two continents.
